Overview
Export task breakdowns from Projan plans to Trello as cards with descriptions and checklists, and import existing cards as conversation context.
Prerequisites
- Trello account with access to the target board
- Projan team admin or individual account
Setup Steps
- Go to Settings > Integrations > Trello
- Click “Connect Trello”
- Authorize the connection on Trello’s consent screen
- Select a default board during export
Permissions Requested
| Scope | Purpose | Access Level |
|---|---|---|
read | Read boards, lists, and cards | Read |
write | Create and update cards and checklists | Write |
account | Identify the connected account | Read |
What Data is Accessed
- Board and list names
- Existing cards (for context import and deduplication)
Data Storage
- Encrypted access token
Disconnecting
Go to Settings > Integrations > Trello > Disconnect.
Token is purged immediately. Previously exported cards remain in Trello unaffected. You can also revoke access from Trello > Settings > Applications.
Troubleshooting
“No boards found”
- Check that the connected account is a member of at least one board
Hierarchy mapping
- Trello has no native task hierarchy; epics become lists or labelled cards, and subtasks become checklist items
Rate limits
- Trello limits API throughput; larger exports are queued and retried automatically
