Overview

Export task breakdowns from Projan plans to Motion where they are auto-scheduled based on priority and deadlines. Motion’s AI scheduler optimises your calendar around the exported tasks.

Prerequisites

• Motion account with API access
• API key from Motion settings
• Projan team admin or individual account

Setup Steps

1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Motion
2. Enter your Motion API key (found in Motion > Settings > API)
3. Click “Connect”
4. Select a default project

Permissions Requested

API key grants full access to your Motion workspace. Projan only creates tasks in projects you explicitly select during export.

What Data is Accessed

• Project names and IDs
• Workspace information

Data Storage

• Encrypted API key

Auto-Scheduling Configuration

Exported tasks use the following defaults:

• Deadline type: SOFT
• Schedule: Work Hours
• Auto-scheduled: Enabled

Priority Mapping

Projan Priority	Motion Priority
Urgent / Critical	ASAP
High	HIGH
Medium (default)	MEDIUM
Low	LOW

Disconnecting

Go to Settings > Integrations > Motion > Disconnect.

API key is purged immediately.

Troubleshooting

“Rate limited”

• Motion allows 12 requests per minute
• Larger exports are queued and retried with automatic backoff

“Invalid API key”

• Regenerate your API key in Motion settings and reconnect

Tasks not scheduling

• Check your Motion project settings and calendar availability
• Ensure the target project has auto-scheduling enabled

No subtask support

• Motion does not support subtasks via API
• Parent task information is included in the task description
