Cookie Policy

Last updated: 7 May 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, understand how you use it, and improve your experience. Some cookies are essential for the site to function; others help us analyse traffic or may in future support advertising.

This policy applies to the Projan marketing site at projan.ai. The Projan application at app.projan.ai is covered separately by our Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Cookies

We categorise our cookies into three groups:

  • Essential - required for the site to function correctly. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics - help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
  • Marketing - may be used in future to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. We do not currently set marketing cookies, but the consent banner includes this category so your preference is already recorded if we introduce them.

3. Essential Cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the site to operate. They do not require consent under GDPR/ePrivacy.

Cookie Provider Purpose Duration
projan_auth Projan Detects whether you are logged in so navigation links point to the correct destination. Session (cleared on browser close)
projan-consent Projan Stores your cookie consent preferences so the banner is not shown again. 365 days

4. Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymised usage data such as page views, session duration, traffic sources, and general geographic region. This data helps us understand which pages are most useful and where visitors drop off, so we can improve the site.

Analytics cookies are only set after you give consent via the cookie banner. If you reject analytics cookies, Google Analytics will not load and no tracking data is collected.

Cookie Provider Purpose Duration
_ga Google Distinguishes unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier. 14 months
_ga_JE4401CFPG Google Maintains session state for the Projan GA4 property. 14 months

Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Marketing Cookies

We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If we introduce ad tracking in future (for example, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight, or Meta Pixel), those cookies will only be set if you have given explicit consent for the "Marketing" category.

This policy will be updated before any marketing cookies are introduced, and the consent banner already allows you to opt in or out of this category independently.

6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the button below, which will re-open the consent banner:

When you reject analytics cookies, any existing GA4 cookies (_ga, _ga_*) will remain on your device until they expire naturally, but Google Analytics will no longer load or collect new data. You can clear them manually via your browser settings.

7. Browser-Level Controls

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. The following links explain how to manage cookies in common browsers:

Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working correctly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We will update this policy when we add or remove cookies. Material changes - such as introducing a new cookie category - will be highlighted through the consent banner so you can review your preferences.
