Overview

Import user feedback from Canny into Projan conversations. Attach feature requests or whole board summaries as context sources so the AI can ground PRDs and plans in real user demand. This integration is import-only - Projan never writes to Canny.

Prerequisites

• Canny account with API access (available on Canny’s paid plans)
• Your Canny API key and subdomain
• Projan team admin or individual account

Setup Steps

1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Canny
2. Enter your Canny API key (found in Canny > Settings > API & Webhooks)
3. Enter your Canny subdomain (the your-company part of your-company.canny.io)
4. Click “Connect”

Permissions Requested

The API key grants read access to your Canny boards and posts. Projan only reads data - it never creates, modifies, or deletes anything in Canny.

What Data is Accessed

• Boards and post titles when browsing for a context source
• Feature requests, comments, and vote counts you explicitly attach to a conversation

Imported content is fetched fresh each time the AI generates a response, and only for sources you have attached.

Data Storage

• Encrypted API key and subdomain
• Imported context snapshots stored on the conversation they are attached to

Disconnecting

Go to Settings > Integrations > Canny > Disconnect.

The API key is purged immediately. Context sources already attached to conversations retain their last imported snapshot until removed.

Troubleshooting

“Invalid API key”

• Regenerate your API key in Canny settings and reconnect

“No boards found”

• Verify the subdomain matches your Canny workspace exactly
